My name is Charlotte Zaremba. People always ask the origin of my name and then are surprised when I tell them it's a Polish name, and not an uncommon Polish name.
I have been teaching at Estancia High School since 2010 and at NMUSD since 2002. I started by teaching Chemistry, Physics, and Marine Science at Orange Coast Middle College High School.
My teaching credentials are in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
One of the biggest challenges students face in learning Chemistry and Physics is the math component. I always wanted to teach math because it is such a major part of learning physical science and after earning my teaching credential in math, I have been teaching math and talking about the application of math to science in my math classes and talking about how what students learn in math is used in the chemistry and physics classes.
In 2014, I had the opportunity to train as a Project Lead the Way teacher for its Introduction to Engineering Design class. This exciting class gives students a head start developing skills used in the real world in the design fields, particularly in Engineering Design. Students learn technical sketching and apply science and math to the engineering field, and then do 3-dimensional design using Autodesk Inventor. Students love the hands-on nature of PLTW classes, which makes the IED class fun.
