Digital Media Arts Pathway

The Digital Media Arts Pathway at Estancia High School is for students interested in the Arts, Technology and Business fields. The DMA Pathway will prepare students for college and career, by providing the knowledge and technological skills  needed to be successful in the technology-driven 21st Century.

Course Descriptions

9th Grade

Multimedia Communications

In this course, students will explore basic applications of various multimedia tools such as computers, camera, video cameras and software to create visual and written projects in both digital and print formats. Students will be introduced to industry-standard tools, skills and materials that they can manipulate as the primary means of creative expression.

10th Grade

Computer Graphics

This course introduces students to graphic design as a form of visual communication, using typography, images, color, elements of art and principles of design. Projects explore design processes in two and three dimensions, visual identity, creative problem solving and basic-intermediate design practice. 

11th Grade

Computer Graphics Advanced

This is the next level course to graphic design where students create graphic and photographic art for personal portfolios and public display while mastering personal expression and individual style in various forms of visual communication.

12th Grade


This course introduces students to the basics of planning and launching their own successful business. Whether they want to start their own moneymaking business or create a non-profit to help others. This course helps students develop core skills they need to be successful in the entrepreneurial world.
