HOSA

Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA)

HOSA is an organization specially designed for future health professionals. The purpose of HOSA is to develop leadership and technical HOSA skill competencies through a program of motivation, awareness and recognition, which is an integral part of the Health Science Education instructional program. HOSA at Estancia High School is only offered to current EMA students and allows them to choose a medical category to compete in at the state level. State competitions are held in Sacramento, CA and Anaheim , CA and rotate every other year. They are 4 days in length, and students compete in there selected category. Competitions include several rounds, and consist of an online exam and practical skills. If students successfully complete and pass all aspects of testing, they will be eligible for award recognition that could consist of monetary, and/or scholarship rewards.

If interested in competing for HOSA, please come and see Mr. Yuuki and attend our professional weekly meetings.

*If you compete in HOSA at the State Leadership Conference, you can use the hours in lieu of the 20 hour internship for the CTE Medical Medallion. If you hold an officer position you will receive a cord at graduation. If you compete in HOSA all three years, you will receive a sash.
