the Purpose of Link Crew

Link Crew is a high school transition program that welcomes freshmen and makes them feel comfortable throughout the first year of their high school experience. Link Crew provides a structure for freshmen to receive support and guidance from juniors and seniors who have been through the challenges that high school poses, and understand that the transition to a larger school can sometimes be overwhelming.

Link Crew Leaders

Link Crew Leaders are positive role models for incoming students.  They serve as mentors who guide the freshmen to discover what it takes to be successful during the transition to high school.  Link Crew Leaders will help create and maintain a culture of inclusion, belonging and kindness at Estancia High School.  Link Crew Leaders must be able to make a yearlong commitment to the program.

Link Crew Leaders will do the following:

  • Attend trainings for Freshmen Welcome Day
  • Lead Freshmen Welcome Day
  • Help new students on the first day of school
  • Meet with students each day to help support academic success and character development
  • Connect with students outside the classroom at social events
  • Connect with students on an individual basis
  • Promote positive school climate through social activities and positive connection
