Upcoming Events


The first PTSA meeting of the school year will be on Monday, September 20 at 7 p.m.  Spanish interpretation will be available. 

The Zoom meeting ID is 986 7042 2152.  The agenda for the meeting includes the following: fundraisers and volunteer updates, ASB report, parent and student resources, and a principal’s campus update.  See below for information about how to join the Estancia PTSA.  


SAT Testing for students in Grade 12 only will be held at Estancia on October 28.  The cost is $55 or $8 if you qualify for free/reduced lunch. Please pay at the ASB office by Thursday, September 23 and see the attached flyer for details. 


Estancia High School’s ASB will be hosting Club Rush on Tuesday, September 28 during lunch.  Club Rush will be held outdoors on the front lawn. 


Estancia High School’s Back to School Night will be on Thursday, September 30 at 6:30pm on Zoom.  Estancia families will find the links needed for the 6:30 p.m. presentation as well as the Zoom links for their child’s teachers at See the attached flyer for more information regarding Back to School Night.


Estancia High School will be on a modified B Day schedule on Friday, October 1.  Students who do not have an 8th period class will be released from school at 11:20 a.m.  Students who have an 8th period class will  be released at 12:25 p.m.  


Wear EHS spirit wear or red and gold to school on Friday, October 1 to show your Eagle Pride! 


Coffee & Conversation with the Principal will be held on Friday, October 1 at 9 a.m. on Zoom. Coffee & Conversation with the Principal is an informal opportunity for parents/guardians to engage in dialogue with school administrators.  The Zoom meeting ID is 988 2787 0879.  Spanish interpretation will be available.


Estancia High School’s Homecoming Football Game will be on Friday, October 1 at 7 p.m. in Jim Scott Stadium.  Come cheer on our Eagles as they take on Saddleback High School.  Students should wear black to the game.  


Estancia’s Homecoming Dance will be on Saturday, October 2 from 7-10 p.m. in the outdoor courtyard. Tickets will go on sale through the Student Store soon.  EHS students can bring a pre-approved guest from another N-MUSD school to the dance.  Guest contracts will be available at the Student Store.


Lauren Studios will be on campus on Monday, October 4, Tuesday, October 5, and Wednesday, October 6 to take senior portraits for any seniors who did not have their portraits taken over summer.  More information about how to schedule an appointment is listed below under “Important Information”.  


Students in Grade 10 will take a vision and hearing test on Thursday, October 7 or Friday, October 8. 


The National PTA's annual Reflections Contest is back!  Students have the opportunity to submit original works of art in response to the theme selected.  This year's theme is I Will Change the World By...  Students can submit their works of art in one or all of the available arts categories: Dance Choreography, Film Production, Literature, Music Composition, Photography, Visual Arts.  The deadline to submit an entry is October 15.  Entry forms are available in the EHS library and the EHS website.  If you have any questions, please contact 714-878-3155 or visit  



Important Information


Senior Portraits:  Lauren Studios will be back on our campus on Monday, October 4, Tuesday, October 5, and Wednesday, October 6 to take senior portraits.  Appointment times will be available from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m.  The photographer will be located in the Faculty Lounge next to the Athletics Office and Cafeteria.  Please speak with Mr. Yeomans if there is a family financial concern about the sitting fee so arrangements can be made to have your portrait included in the yearbook. Please contact Lauren Studios directly by calling (951) 272-8600, logging into (use the user ID that was mailed out by the photography studio over the summer), or see Mr. Yeomans in Room 252 any day after 1:40 p.m. for assistance. 


OCTA Youth Bus Pass: For a limited time, youth aged 6 to 18 can ride OC Bus for free with the Youth Ride Free promotional pass. The Youth Ride Free pass will be available upon parent request starting in September. The pass will be valid on any OC Bus fixed-route service until February 28, 2022. To request a pass, please complete a Parental Request Form (available online here) and provide the completed form to Ms. Capristan, in the main office, who will provide your child with the free pass. SchooLinks: The college and career readiness platform, SchooLinks, helps students discover their interests and strengths, explore colleges and careers, and create an individualized career and academic plan that best reflects their post-secondary goals.  SchooLinks is available to students in 7- 12 grade and their parents. Students will login to SchooLinks by clicking on the SchooLinks logo on their ClassLink Launchpad. Paper: Paper is an academic support system that provides students with unlimited access to a variety of tutoring services, such as one-on-one tutoring and essay review, through a secure online platform.  Students will login to Paper by clicking on the Paper logo on their ClassLink Launchpad. Tardy = Detention: Students who arrive late to school in the morning or arrive late to any class must report to the Attendance Office windows to check in and get a tardy slip.  Anyone who is tardy will be required to serve detention after school that day for up to 30 minutes.  Campus Safety and school administrators will be picking up students for detention.  


Parking Permits:  Students need a parking permit to park on campus.  Click here to apply for a parking permit.  Please note that a copy of the student’s driver’s license, vehicle registration, and proof of insurance is required for a parking permit to be issued.  Students can only park in the student parking lot.  The student parking lot is located between the Main Gym and tennis courts.  The speed limit in all parking lots on campus is 10 mph.


Off-Campus Lunch:  Students in Grades 11 and 12 are allowed to leave campus for lunch with the permission of a parent/guardian.  The off-campus lunch privilege is valid as long as the student's attendance, grades, and citizenship marks are satisfactory. Students who fail to meet these expectations may have their pass revoked. It is expected that students with off-campus lunch pass permission will report promptly to class immediately following lunch, follow the bell schedule of the day, and comply with all applicable school and NMUSD rules.  Parents/Guardians who would like to give permission for their 11th or 12th grade student to leave campus at lunch should click here to request an off-campus lunch pass.  


Aeries Parent Portal: Families can access the Aeries Parent Portal throughout the year to update contact information, view student progress reports, report cards and student state tests reports.  If families have not completed the Mandatory Online Registration please login to the Aeries Parent Portal. Please follow directions to set up your Aeries Parent Portal account, if you do not already have one.  Elementary schools use this for registration, so if you already have one set up, you can add additional students to the same account.  We have also created a screencast to view how to set up an Aeries Parent Portal.  Please note that parents will need an email address to create an account. You can create an email address with any provider, click here for instructions to create a Gmail email. 


COVID-19 Protocols:  All students and staff members are required to wear masks while inside of the school building regardless of vaccination status.  Masks are not required for students or staff while outdoors. Students and staff members are to complete a daily self-screening for COVID-19 symptoms prior to coming to campus. Students and staff members are to stay at home when sick.  Parents and guardians should contact the Attendance Office at (949) 515-6505 to report that their student is ill. 


Schoology: Newport-Mesa Unified School District is introducing a new learning platform this year called Schoology.  Schoology has replaced School Loop and Google Classroom.  Estancia High School teachers have been learning the new platform which students will use to view their grades and course assignments.  Information will be shared at a later date regarding how parents and guardians can access Schoology to view their child’s progress.  We appreciate your patience as we transition to Schoology.  


Reminder: No food deliveries or parent drop-offs are allowed. Please make sure students come to school ready and with all the materials, instruments, cell phones, or water they may need throughout the day. Campus staff will not accept any items to be held at the front office.

Grab & Go Meals:  Grab & Go Meals will be provided to all students at no charge. Students can pick up a Grab & Go Meal in the cafeteria from 11:35am - 12:05pm.

One-on-Campus:  Students who would like assistance with drug or alcohol use are invited to participate in One-on-Campus.  One-on-Campus offers three drop-in sessions a week during the school day on the Estancia campus.  Students should reach out to their counselor, Miss Chamberlin, or Mr. Mata and they will connect the students with One-on-Campus.  


SOY:  Need a place to study?  Need help with a particular subject in school?  Need help writing your college essay?  Want to try something new like piano, drums, hiking, or soccer?  If you answered yes to any of these questions, join SOY!   SOY is now open Monday through Friday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Register for SOY online or go to SOY in person.   For more information, visit the SOY website at or see the attached flyer.  


Costa Mesa Police Explorers:  Are you interested in a future career in law enforcement?  Are you interested in improving your leadership skills and improving your physical fitness?  If the answer is yes, consider joining the Costa Mesa Police Explorer Program.  The Costa Mesa Police Explorer Program is a volunteer organization that helps young men and women interested in law enforcement and other related fields develop leadership skills, discipline, & integrity.  Police Explorers receive training in physical fitness, patrol, crime scene investigation, firearm safety, traffic control, DUI investigations, building searches, domestic violence, & criminal law. If you have a 2.5 or above GPA and are interested in this unique opportunity, please check the EHS website for more information or speak with our School Resource Officer, Officer Melendez.
