Upcoming Events

 

Estancia High School will be having a fire/evacuation drill on Tuesday, November 30 at 9:40 a.m.  Estancia Tutorial-Advisory Program classes (Eagle Advisory, Eagle Activity, Eagle Tutorial, Eagle Study) will not be meeting that day due to the drill.  Period 4 will begin at 9:35 a.m.

 

Coffee & Conversation with the Principal will be held on Friday, December 3 at 9 a.m. on Zoom. Coffee & Conversation with the Principal is an informal opportunity for parents/guardians to engage in dialogue with school administrators.  The Zoom meeting ID is 988 2787 0879.  Spanish interpretation will be available.

 

Second Quarter/First Semester Finals Week will be December 13 - December 16.  Estancia High School will be on a special bell schedule this week. 

 

The Second Quarter/First semester of the 2021-2022 school year will end on Thursday, December 16.

 

School will not be in session on Friday, December 17.  This is a teacher preparation day. 

 

Winter Recess is from December 20 - 31 2021. Students will return to instruction on Monday, January 3, 2022.

 

Important Information

 

Class of 2022: It’s time to place your orders for caps, gowns, tassels, and graduation announcements through Jostens. Orders can be placed online at www.jostens.com, by phone at (800) 567-8367, by mail, or in person at 711 W. 17th Street Unit E-7 in Costa Mesa.  Click on the attachment below for more information. 

 

OCTA Youth Bus Pass: For a limited time, youth aged 6 to 18 can ride OC Bus for free with the Youth Ride Free promotional pass. The Youth Ride Free pass will be available upon parent request starting in September. The pass will be valid on any OC Bus fixed-route service until February 28, 2022. To request a pass, please complete a Parental Request Form (available online here) and provide the completed form to Ms. Capristan, in the main office, who will provide your child with the free pass. Please see the attached flyers for more information about the promotion. 

 

SchooLinks: The college and career readiness platform, SchooLinks, helps students discover their interests and strengths, explore colleges and careers, and create an individualized career and academic plan that best reflects their post-secondary goals.  SchooLinks is available to students in 7- 12 grade and their parents. Students will login to SchooLinks by clicking on the SchooLinks logo on their ClassLink Launchpad. Paper: Paper is an academic support system that provides students with unlimited access to a variety of tutoring services, such as one-on-one tutoring and essay review, through a secure online platform.  Students will login to Paper by clicking on the Paper logo on their ClassLink Launchpad. Tardy = Detention: Students who arrive late to school in the morning or arrive late to any class must report to the Attendance Office windows to check in and get a tardy slip.  Anyone who is tardy will be required to serve detention after school that day for up to 30 minutes.  Campus Safety and school administrators will be picking up students for detention.  

 

Parking Permits:  Students need a parking permit to park on campus.  Click here to apply for a parking permit.  Please note that a copy of the student’s driver’s license, vehicle registration, and proof of insurance is required for a parking permit to be issued.  Students can only park in the student parking lot.  The student parking lot is located between the Main Gym and tennis courts.  The speed limit in all parking lots on campus is 10 mph.

 

Off-Campus Lunch:  Students in Grades 11 and 12 are allowed to leave campus for lunch with the permission of a parent/guardian.  The off-campus lunch privilege is valid as long as the student's attendance, grades, and citizenship marks are satisfactory. Students who fail to meet these expectations may have their pass revoked. It is expected that students with off-campus lunch pass permission will report promptly to class immediately following lunch, follow the bell schedule of the day, and comply with all applicable school and NMUSD rules.  Parents/Guardians who would like to give permission for their 11th or 12th grade student to leave campus at lunch should click here to request an off-campus lunch pass.  

 

Aeries Parent Portal: Families can access the Aeries Parent Portal throughout the year to update contact information, view student progress reports, report cards and student state tests reports.  If families have not completed the Mandatory Online Registration please login to the Aeries Parent Portal. Please follow directions to set up your Aeries Parent Portal account, if you do not already have one.  Elementary schools use this for registration, so if you already have one set up, you can add additional students to the same account.  We have also created a screencast to view how to set up an Aeries Parent Portal.  Please note that parents will need an email address to create an account. You can create an email address with any provider, click here for instructions to create a Gmail email. 

 

COVID-19 Protocols:  All students and staff members are required to wear masks while inside of the school building regardless of vaccination status.  Masks are not required for students or staff while outdoors. Students and staff members are to complete a daily self-screening for COVID-19 symptoms prior to coming to campus. Students and staff members are to stay at home when sick.  Parents and guardians should contact the Attendance Office at (949) 515-6505 to report that their student is ill. 

 

Schoology: Newport-Mesa Unified School District is introducing a new learning platform this year called Schoology.  Schoology has replaced School Loop and Google Classroom.  Estancia High School teachers have been learning the new platform which students will use to view their grades and course assignments.  Information will be shared at a later date regarding how parents and guardians can access Schoology to view their child’s progress.  We appreciate your patience as we transition to Schoology.  

 

Reminder: No food deliveries or parent drop-offs are allowed. Please make sure students come to school ready and with all the materials, instruments, cell phones, or water they may need throughout the day. Campus staff will not accept any items to be held at the front office.

Grab & Go Meals:  Grab & Go Meals will be provided to all students at no charge. Students can pick up a Grab & Go Meal in the cafeteria from 11:35am - 12:05pm.

 

PTSA:  Estancia High School parents, students and teachers are encouraged to join the Estancia PTSA.  Membership is $10 per person.  Please click on one of the links below to join.

One-on-Campus:  Students who would like assistance with drug or alcohol use are invited to participate in One-on-Campus.  One-on-Campus offers three drop-in sessions a week during the school day on the Estancia campus.  Students should reach out to their counselor, Miss Chamberlin, or Mr. Mata and they will connect the students with One-on-Campus.  

 

SOY:  Need a place to study?  Need help with a particular subject in school?  Need help writing your college essay?  Want to try something new like piano, drums, hiking, or soccer?  If you answered yes to any of these questions, join SOY!   SOY is now open Monday through Friday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Register for SOY online or go to SOY in person.   For more information, visit the SOY website at www.save-our-youth.org
