Hello Eagles! Below is the schedule for the week of May 23 - 27, upcoming events at Estancia High School, and important information for students and families.

Upcoming Events


Estancia High School will celebrate “Bee Inclusive” day on Wednesday, May 25.  Students are encouraged to attend the Best Buddies meeting in the small gym at lunch and participate in a “play unified” event.  Students are also encouraged to wear yellow and black to school that day.


There will be an ELAC meeting on Thursday, May 26 at 6:30 p.m. in the Choral Room. The meeting will include a presentation about Career Technical Education pathways and Coastline ROP.


School will not be in session on Monday, May 30 due to Memorial Day.  


We are anticipating yearbooks will be available for distribution on Tuesday, May 31 for students who have already purchased a yearbook.   A limited number of additional yearbooks are available for sale.  The cost of a yearbook is $105.  Yearbooks can be purchased through the Student Store by cash or credit/debit card.


Newport-Mesa Unified School District will be hosting their annual Art Show on Tuesday, May 31 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Orange Coast College Doyle Arts Pavilion.  There is no charge for the event.  Come see the creative works of students across N-MUSD that evening.   


Senior Awards Night will be on Wednesday, June 1 at 6 p.m. in Jim Scott Stadium.  Seniors who will be recognized that evening will receive an invitation to attend the event.  


Seniors will take their final exams in Periods 3 & 7 on Thursday, June 2.  Seniors will take their final exams in Periods 4 & 8 on Friday, June 3.  


Semester final exams will be Monday, June 6- Thursday, June 9.  Estancia High School will be on a final exam bell schedule that week.  The schedule for final exams is as follows:

Monday, June 6 - Final exams in Periods 1 & 5

Tuesday, June 7 - Final exams in Periods 2 & 6

Wednesday, June 8 - Final exams in Periods 3 & 7

Thursday, June 9 - Final exams in Periods 4 & 8


Please return all textbooks and library books to the Library as soon as you are finished with them. Seniors- you will also need to return Chromebooks and chargers before you will get your diploma. 9th, 10th and 11th graders will not be able to register next year until all materials are turned in. Please see Mrs. FitzGerald or Mrs. Parks in the Library if you have any questions.


Seniors who have purchased a cap, gown and tassel through Jostens will pick up their orders on Tuesday, June 7 from 9:55 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. through the Student Store.  Seniors who still need to purchase a cap, gown and tassel can do so that day from Jostens for $40.  Jostens will only be able to accept cash payment that day.


There will be a Senior Brunch on Wednesday, June 8 at 10:30 a.m. in the small gym immediately following the conclusion of graduation rehearsal.  Tickets for the brunch are $30 per senior and are available through the Student Store.  


Seniors attending the Estancia PTSA-sponsored Grad Nite at California Adventure must report to campus at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 8.  The buses will depart EHS promptly at 8 a.m. and return by 3 a.m.


The last day of the 2021-2022 school year will be on Thursday, June 9.  


The class of 2022 Graduation ceremony will be on Thursday, June 9 at 3 p.m. in Jim Scott Stadium.  The stadium will open at 2 p.m. for seating.  No tickets are required.  Seniors must check in for the ceremony at 2 p.m.  


Important Information


Class of 2022 Activities:  Senior Awards Night will be on Wednesday, June 1 in Jim Scott Stadium.  The families of students who will be recognized that evening will receive invitations in the mail.  


Seniors who pre-ordered caps, gowns, and tassels through Jostens can pick up their orders on Tuesday, June 7 between 9:55 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. at the counter of the Student Store.  Jostens will be on site that day should any seniors still need to purchase a cap, gown, and tassel.  The cost is $40 and Jostens will only accept cash that day.  Seniors can also go to the Jostens office located at 711 W. 17th Street E-7 in Costa Mesa to purchase a cap, gown, and tassel.  If you have any questions regarding caps and gowns, please contact Jostens at (949) 574-7444. 


All seniors who will be participating in the graduation ceremony are required to attend Graduation Rehearsal on Wednesday, June 8 at 9:00 a.m. in Jim Scott Stadium.  Seniors will enter the stadium through a gate at the rear of the home side of the stadium as they will enter the stadium on graduation day through this gate.  Seniors will locate their assigned seats on the field and will participate in a run-thru of the graduation ceremony.  


Following the conclusion of the graduation rehearsal, seniors are invited to a Senior Brunch in the Small Gym on Wednesday, June 8 at 10:30 a.m. hosted by the Estancia High School ASB. Tickets to the catered brunch are $30 and tickets must be purchased in advance through the Student Store by cash or credit/debit card.  


Seniors who have purchased tickets through the Estancia High School PTSA for Grad Nite at California Adventure are to report to the Main Gym at EHS on Wednesday, June 8 no later than 7:30 p.m. for check-in.  The buses will depart Estancia promptly at 8 p.m.   The buses will return to Estancia High School by 3 a.m. on Thursday, June 9.  If you have any questions regarding Grad Nite, please contact the Estancia High School PTSA at  


The Graduation Ceremony for Estancia High School’s Class of 2022 will be held on Thursday, June 9 at 3:00 p.m. at Jim Scott Stadium.  No tickets are required for the graduation ceremony and seating in the stadium is on a first-come, first-served basis.  The stadium gates will open at 2 p.m.  Seniors must report at 2 p.m. 


OCTA Youth Bus Pass:  The Youth Ride Free program has been extended by OCTA.  For those students that have the yellow pass, please hang on to your passes. OC Bus drivers will continue to accept the existing  Youth Ride Free pass until March 31, 2022. The OCTA has issued new blue passes that will be good through September 2022. To request a pass, please complete a Parental Request Form (see attachment or click here) and provide the completed form to Ms. Capristan, in the main office, who will provide your child with the free pass.


Class of 2022: It’s time to place your orders for caps, gowns, tassels, and graduation announcements through Jostens. Orders can be placed online at, by phone at (800) 567-8367, by mail, or in person at 711 W. 17th Street Unit E-7 in Costa Mesa.


SchooLinks: The college and career readiness platform, SchooLinks, helps students discover their interests and strengths, explore colleges and careers, and create an individualized career and academic plan that best reflects their post-secondary goals.  SchooLinks is available to students in 7- 12 grade and their parents. Students will login to SchooLinks by clicking on the SchooLinks logo on their ClassLink Launchpad. Paper: Paper is an academic support system that provides students with unlimited access to a variety of tutoring services, such as one-on-one tutoring and essay review, through a secure online platform.  Students will login to Paper by clicking on the Paper logo on their ClassLink Launchpad. Tardy = Detention: Students who arrive late to school in the morning or arrive late to any class must report to the Attendance Office windows to check in and get a tardy slip.  Anyone who is tardy will be required to serve detention after school that day for up to 30 minutes.  Campus Safety and school administrators will be picking up students for detention.  


Parking Permits:  Students need a parking permit to park on campus.  Click here to apply for a parking permit.  Please note that a copy of the student’s driver’s license, vehicle registration, and proof of insurance is required for a parking permit to be issued.  Students can only park in the student parking lot.  The student parking lot is located between the Main Gym and tennis courts.  The speed limit in all parking lots on campus is 10 mph.


Off-Campus Lunch:  Students in Grades 11 and 12 are allowed to leave campus for lunch with the permission of a parent/guardian.  The off-campus lunch privilege is valid as long as the student's attendance, grades, and citizenship marks are satisfactory. Students who fail to meet these expectations may have their pass revoked. It is expected that students with off-campus lunch pass permission will report promptly to class immediately following lunch, follow the bell schedule of the day, and comply with all applicable school and NMUSD rules.  Parents/Guardians who would like to give permission for their 11th or 12th grade student to leave campus at lunch should click here to request an off-campus lunch pass.  


Aeries Parent Portal: Families can access the Aeries Parent Portal throughout the year to update contact information, view student progress reports, report cards and student state tests reports.  If families have not completed the Mandatory Online Registration please login to the Aeries Parent Portal. Please follow directions to set up your Aeries Parent Portal account, if you do not already have one.  Elementary schools use this for registration, so if you already have one set up, you can add additional students to the same account.  We have also created a screencast to view how to set up an Aeries Parent Portal.  Please note that parents will need an email address to create an account. You can create an email address with any provider, click here for instructions to create a Gmail email. 


COVID-19 Protocols: Face masks are strongly recommended for students and staff members but not required. Students and staff members are to complete a daily self-screening for COVID-19 symptoms prior to coming to campus. Students and staff members are to stay at home when sick.  Parents and guardians should contact the Attendance Office at (949) 515-6505 to report that their student is ill.  Please see the attached Student COVID-19 Flow Chart that continues the new guidelines regarding isolation and quarantine periods for students who test positive for COVID-19 or who have been in close contact with someone who has COVID-19. 


Schoology: Newport-Mesa Unified School District is introducing a new learning platform this year called Schoology.  Schoology has replaced School Loop and Google Classroom.  Estancia High School teachers have been learning the new platform which students will use to view their grades and course assignments.  Information will be shared at a later date regarding how parents and guardians can access Schoology to view their child’s progress.  We appreciate your patience as we transition to Schoology.  


Reminder: No food deliveries or parent drop-offs are allowed. Please make sure students come to school ready and with all the materials, instruments, cell phones, or water they may need throughout the day. Campus staff will not accept any items to be held at the front office.

Grab & Go Meals:  Grab & Go Meals will be provided to all students at no charge. Students can pick up a Grab & Go Meal in the cafeteria from 11:35am - 12:05pm.

One-on-Campus:  Students who would like assistance with drug or alcohol use are invited to participate in One-on-Campus.  One-on-Campus offers three drop-in sessions a week during the school day on the Estancia campus.  Students should reach out to their counselor, Miss Chamberlin, or Mr. Mata and they will connect the students with One-on-Campus.
