TeWinkle Middle School Updates for 2022-23 School Year
Posted 5/23/22

Parents in MPR at TeWinkle SchoolWe would like to provide you with a few updates about the upcoming 2022-23 school year.

Bell Schedule

TeWinkle Middle School's bell schedule will be adjusted to accommodate a seven period day. School will start at 8:05 am (first period) and end at 2:40 pm (7th period). The addition of a seventh period is more in alignment with other middle schools within the school district, allowing TeWinkle students opportunities to take additional elective courses.

Expanded Elective Offerings

Thank you to everyone who participated in the Middle School Elective Forum earlier this year and provided input regarding areas of interest for current and future elective offerings at the campus. As a result of the community feedback elective course offerings for the 2022-23 school year will be expanded.

The following elective courses are expected to be offered for the 2022-23 school year:

  • Art 2 (new)

  • Engineering- Design & Modeling (new; reinstated)

  • Spanish (new)

 After school enrichment:

  • Drama (new)

  • Speech & Debate (continuing)

We remain committed to enhancing academic programs for our students and are currently exploring other elective options within the school day.

More to Follow

Campus leadership is coordinating with nearby California Elementary and District staff to develop a drop-off/pick-up plan with minimal impact to families. Additional information, including maps, videos and/or screencasts to assist our families with traffic flow near our campus will be shared soon.

Thank you

We appreciate the TeWinkle teachers and staff for their growth mindset and collaborative approach to implement a bell schedule that allows more academic programs to for the students.

Thank you also to our students, parents and community members for their strong support of our school. Your voices matter and your voices make change.
