Estancia MEdical Academy

The Estancia Medical Academy (EMA) is a three-year Career Technical Education pathway that provides the academic & technical skills along with the knowledge students will use to pursue a full range of career opportunities in the Health Science & Medical Technology industry sector.  The goal of the program is to expose students to the diverse health career opportunities available in the medical industry. 


Topics of study in the Estancia Medical Academy include the following:

  • Ethical & legal responsibilities of health care workers
  • Safety & standard precautions
  • Medical terminology
  • Human anatomy & physiology
  • Body systems & mechanics
  • Health & fitness
  • Hands-on experience in vital signs, emergency medical care, first aid, CPR
  • How to provide immediate care to an ill or injured person
  • How assist emergency medical service providers
  • Professions within the medical & health care industry

Mission & Value Statement

Estancia Medical Academy values are the guiding principles that serve as the foundation for everything we think, say and do as a high school student and as a professional in the pre-hospital/ medical environment. They are our organizational code of conduct and signify what we stand for. We refuse to be less than what these values represent. Any philosophy, policy, practice or behavior that is outside of these values is unacceptable and will either be improved or removed.

Grade 10:  Medical Careers & Health Systems

Grade 11:  Emergency Medical Responder

Grade 12:  Body Systems & Disorders

All EMA courses are UC/CSU approved G college preparatory electives.  

HOSA Competition in Anaheim

EMA students have the opportunity to be a part of HOSA.  HOSA is an international student organization dedicated to promoting career opportunities in the health care industry and enhancing the delivery of quality health care to all people.  HOSA members participate in health care related competitive events including a State Leadership Conference each spring.  HOSA provides a unique program of leadership development, motivation, and recognition for students enrolled in health science education or have interests in pursuing careers in health professions.
