Newport-Mesa Unified School District (NMUSD) students were recognized for their outstanding achievements during the annual Coastline ROP Student Showcase Awards Ceremony.

The ceremony celebrated student excellence across a variety of Career Technical Education (CTE) pathway programs, including construction, entrepreneurship, child development, sustainability, public service, and health sciences.

The evening’s highest honor, Coastline ROP Student of the Year, was awarded to Briseyda Cabrera Mejia of Estancia High School’s Medical Academy. Gianna Brewer of Early College High School was also recognized as NMUSD Student of the Year.

“These recognitions continue to demonstrate our students’ incredible talent, determination, and potential,” said NMUSD Coordinator, Career Counseling Rachel Kloppenburg. “They are also reflective of the dedication of the teachers and industry partners who support and inspire them.”
